Overview of Child/Adolescent Mental Health Disorders & Treatment

There are three parts to this training module. By the end of the three parts, participants will learn ways to better meet the mental health needs of the children and adolescents they work with by gaining information regarding:

  • Differences between normal development and indicators of a possible mental health disorder
  • Mental health disorders commonly found in children and adolescents
  • Team members involved in the child/adolescent mental health system
  • Treatment interventions associated with child/adolescent mental health services
  • Impacts of medicating children
